Each capsule contains Ginkgo biloba Leaf Extract 60mg.

Pharmacological Actions

On Tissue

Ginkgo biloba leaf extract has membrane stabilizing, antioxidant and free radical scavenging effects. Enhances utilization of oxygen and glucose, leading to better membrane polarization in excitable tissues such as brain and nerve cells.

On Blood Vessels

Exerts vasodilation action by direct stimulation of the release of endothelium-derived relaxing factor and prostacyclin.

On Platelets

Contains ginkgolides — potent inhibitors of platelet activating factor (PAF).

Dosage

Adult — one capsule two times daily before meal. Patients with peptic ulcer should take after meal to avoid epigastric pain.

Drug Interactions

Should not be used together with other anti-platelet agents such as aspirin and dipyridamole to avoid bleeding tendency.

Side Effects

Mild gastrointestinal upset (nausea, heartburn, vomiting), headache, dizziness and allergic skin reaction.
