DiabeHerb® Bitter Melon Supplement

Each capsule contains Momordica charantia Fruit 400mg (50% fruit powder + 50% extract powder).

DiabeHerb® is made from pulp powder of Momordica charantia, free from seed — so it has no effect on blood pressure and can be safely used in hypertensive patients.

Pharmacological Actions

The hypoglycemic activity of Momordica charantia is attributed to charantin, Polypeptide-p and alkaloids. Polypeptide-p (p-insulin) is an insulin-like hypoglycemic protein that mimics the action of human insulin in the body.

Oral administration may renew beta-cells in the pancreas. It increases glucose oxidation through activation of glucose metabolism, inhibits glucose absorption in the gut, and stimulates skeletal muscle and peripheral cell glucose utilization.

Diabetes mellitus

Dosage

Adult — one to two capsules three times daily, half an hour before meal

Combination Therapy

DiabeHerb® has synergistic hypoglycemic effect with insulin and additive hypoglycemic effect with other oral hypoglycemic agents.

Side Effects

Gastrointestinal symptoms such as epigastric discomfort, pain and diarrhoea

Contraindications

Pregnancy, lactation, under 12 years old and people with G6PD deficiency
