Each caplet contains:

• Silybum marianum extract (Milk Thistle) 160mg
• Eclipta alba extract 120mg
• Picrorhiza kurroa extract 100mg
• Soy Lecithin 80mg
• Phyllanthus emblica powder (Natural Vitamin C) 40mg

How Each Ingredient Works

Silybum marianum (Milk Thistle)

Contains active compound silymarin which increases the solubility of bile, reduces biliary cholesterol concentration and bile saturation index — helping to dissolve gallstones and prevent new stone formation.

Eclipta alba

Contains wedelolactone, stigmasterol, β-sitosterol and alkaloid ecliptine. Enhances liver function in fatty liver and cirrhosis, and makes cholesterol more dissolved in bile to prevent precipitation.

Picrorhiza kurroa

Contains Picroliv (iridoid glycoside mixture) which reduces cholesterol levels by inhibiting HMG Co-A reductase — the enzyme involved in cholesterol production in the liver. Low biliary cholesterol helps dissolve gallstones and prevents further formation.

Soy Lecithin

A natural fat emulsifier and phospholipid (phosphatidylcholine). Increases solubility of biliary cholesterol. Lecithin and bile salts reduce cholesterol saturation in bile that leads to stone formation.

Phyllanthus emblica (Natural Vitamin C)

Lowers bile cholesterol levels, decreasing the chance that cholesterol-laden bile will clump to form gallstones.

Indications

• Cholelithiasis (gallstones)
• Cholecystitis and cholangitis
• Prophylactic treatment of recurrence of gallstones

Dosage

• 6–12 years — half caplet three times daily, half an hour before meal
• 12 years and above — one caplet three times daily, half an hour before meal

Duration of treatment depends upon type, size, number and duration of gallstone formation.

Combination Therapy

Beneficial to take with Vitamin C (Nature-C®), Omega-3 fatty acid and probiotic supplements (BioFat®) to decrease the risk of developing gallstones.

Side Effects

Well tolerated in recommended dose. Allergy may occur in individuals with hypersensitivity to milk thistle.
