Osteomax® Organic Calcium & Vitamin D Supplement

Each capsule contains:

• Organic Calcium from Marine Algae 400mg
• Vitamin D from Dairy Product 400 IU (10mcg)

Indications

• Organic calcium supplement
• Osteoporosis

Functions of Calcium

• Maintaining strong bones and healthy teeth
• Preventing bone loss associated with osteoporosis (common in pre- and postmenopausal women)
• Muscular growth and contraction
• Aiding the nervous system, especially in impulse transmission
• Regulating heart rate and helping prevent cardiovascular disease
• Protective factor against high blood pressure and colon cancer
• Stimulating hormone secretion and blood clotting mechanism

Dosage

• 5–12 years — one capsule once daily
• 13 years and above — one capsule two times daily before meal

Drug Interactions

• May antagonize calcium channel blockers and precipitate re-emergence of arrhythmias
• H2 blockers and proton pump inhibitors can decrease calcium absorption
• May decrease absorption of quinolones and tetracyclines

Contraindications

Hypercalcaemia and hyperparathyroidism

Side Effects

Nausea, flatulence and constipation in some individuals.
